DAY THREE: ARMAGEDDON!!!!

There. Got ya again. Actually, it's a pretty darn nice day out there, so I have decided to put Armageddon off, for at least one day. You can breathe a sigh of relief.
Hey folks, how are things in your world? You, especially you who don't yet blog, need to let us know, that you can enrich we who have them...There. Service announcement done.

Hey, do y'all worry? About anything? About everything? Well, to paraphrase the Bible, "Don't worry about yesterday...today will bring you all kinds of new stuff to worry about!"
And it will! One of my favorite passages in one of my favorite books "God
calling" talks about those who worry about things behind them are like a runner that carries with him in the race every old pair of sneaks, every worn out pair of shorts, dirty undies...well, you get the picture! How fast would you run with all that stuff hanging around your neck?!
Anyways, anyone with Raus or Redmond blood in them will have this tendency. And it really can wear you down.
Trust in the Lord. There, I said it. Give it all to Him.
Way easier said than done, especially for the guys today. We grew up with the idea of being in charge, in control, gotta regatta!! Ya know? And to give it up, well, it just plain goes against the grain.
Not that it's any easier for you ladies. You have a ton of things you need to keep under control, careers, kids, we goofy husbands..(speakin' fer meself there..)
But, man, this stuff, piled on, will bury us.
Neil diamond, who is nobody's favorite pastor, summed it up pretty good in one of his tunes, "Brother Love's Traveling Show".
He sings, "
"You got two good arms brother...reach out one to your neighbor, cuz' that's what it's there for. Now reach out the other one to the Lord, cuz' that's what he's there for".

Easier said than done, sure, but well worth tryin".

Man. That's what I'm talkin' about!!

Anyways
..no more preachin' today. Hey....how's about a li'l poem??!! Okay, if you insist:

Life goes on, that's what the people say.
They say it so much, it's a stinkin' cliche.
Really though, folks, tell me, what does that mean?
How do we deal with this whole human scene?

Gettin' up every day to the same ol' routine
Eatin' your breakfast, drinkin' caffeine?
Makin' sure hubby is sent off to work
Makin' sure hubby don't act like a jerk.

How do we handle these mundane old chores
doin' the dishes, washin' the floors
feedin' the family, mowin the lawn
hittin' the p and c when all the milk's gone

What keeps us goin' when we realize
that today what we're doin' is sure no surprise
'Cuz we did the same yesterday, and day before
and we'll do it tomorrow, and forevermore..

Until we kick off. And the Lord takes our hand
And He says to you," I see how you made your stand
You were faithful to Me, saw how you raised those kids
They know Me as you do, you did just as I bid.

Yes, I saw when you fell, how you struggled and cried
How you hurt when you failed Me, and how hard you tried.
I touched you at the start, and held you at the end
Now you're here, and you're welcome! Well done, my good friend."

Oh yeah. Now I 'member, ain't all about us.
Through the highs and the lows and the mess and the fuss
Through the love and the hate and the hot and the cold
and the fat and the thin and the weak and the bold

Through the fun and the pain and the sun and the rain
and the kiss and the punch and the dinner and lunch
and the other good stuff and the other bad things
that will all cross our plate 'til the fat lady sings....

Just enjoy it , my friend. Its a gift from above.
And it really is wrapped in the paper of love.

Okay. Nuff said.

YOU GET THE POINT!

The poem was very, very impressive, dad, though your profile still strikes me as a bit, how shall I say this, gay. But I did enjoy the epic poem and the new and less darkened photos. My last apartment was only slightly more spacious than that treehouse you've built. Nice work.

If you play your cards right, Steph, when you and Sid come to visit, the treehouse could be yours!
