Hey....my talented, brilliant attorney/District Attorney daughter had her first official "all her own" court case yesterday. I don't know who she was up against...only that whoever they were will think twice about breaking the law again.
Steph was obviously well prepared. The defense attorney laid out his arguments carefully, and, one by one, Stephanie shot them down.
That's my girl!
The jury took only 10 minutes to find the defendant guilty as charged...according to Steph's colleague, this was the shortest time ever needed for a jury to convict.....!

I'm surprised they didn't just spill out of the jury box and lynch him right then and there! That girl must be something to see in court. I wish I had a video!
Awww. :) Thanks, dad. It was actually my second trial all on my own, however. The first one came out pretty good too, though I lost one of the felonies. This time I got all the felonies and the kid was clearly shocked. My victim cried like a little girl in appreciation, making it all worth while. I really think she thought he was going to win and she would feel victimized again. He will think twice about victimizing another woman, I assume, once he gets out of jail in three years. (Defendants only end up serving half their sentences usually, unless they really screw up while in prison.) Having you guys as my support makes all the difference. :) Love you guys.
